The 21st Annual Western MA Elder Care Conference is the premier conference for agencies and providers who work with elders in the western Massachusetts region.  In past years the conference has attracted 325+ staff from a wide variety of providers. This conference is a program for elder care providers, administrators, educators and policy-makers. CEUs will be offered for many professionals including: Nursing Home Administrators; Nurses; Social Workers; Psychologists; Licensed Mental Health Counselors; Substance Abuse Counselors; Registered Dieticians/Dietetic Technician, etc.  The exact CEU credits will be finalized in late April but will generally range between 3.5-5.0.

The Keynote Speaker for the 2010 Conference is Dr. Steve Sobel educator and humorist.  Come join us to be re-energized and network with your peers and other professionals in the Elder Care field in Western MA.

Workshops for 2010 are being finalized, but will include the following topics: Suicide Prevention; Mental Health; Effective Communications with Persons with Hearing Loss; Elder Gambling; Latino Services; Ageism; Disparities in Men's Health; Reminiscence: An Important Task for Older Adults and End of Life Care; Elder Driving; Alzheimer's; Protective Services - Self Neglect; Diabetes; Oral Health; Advocacy; Health Care Proxy Law; Elder Transportation; Conflict Resolution; GLBT & Elders; UTI's; and Nutrition - An Evidence Based Program.

Last year's conference featured 21 workshops on important issues affecting elders today.  2009 WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS
