The 20th Annual Western MA Elder Care Conference
will feature 21 workshops on important issues affecting elders today.
Proposed workshops (not finalized) include: Chronic Disease Self-Management; Fall Prevention; Working with low vision and blind elders; Stretching Food Dollars and Accessing Benefit Programs; Veteran's Affairs; Elder Economic Self Sufficiency Standard (EESS); Foreclosure; Property Tax Relief; Grandparents & Multigenerational Care of Elders; Racial-Economic Disparities in Elder Care; Rural Disparities in Elder Care; Healthy Eating: Emergency Preparedness (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster); Workforce Development and Civic Engagement; Mental Health & Elders with Multiple Challenges (Homeless, Drug Addicted, Mental Health Issues, etc); Community Health Worker; Mental Health - "The Taunton model"; Depression & QPR; Identity Theft; Health Literacy; and Protective Services.
This conference is a program for elder care providers, administrators, educators and policy-makers. CEUs will be offered for Nursing Home Administrators, Nurses and Social Workers. The exact CEU credits will be finalized in late April but generally range between 3.5-5.0.
