MPHA Issue Priorities
MPHA’s focus is on preventing disease
and injury and expanding access to health services. Our policy work
is organized under three major areas:
- Health disparities and access
- Environmental and community health
- Public health infrastructure
MPHA's issue priorities
are chosen to have maximum impact on improving public health, to strengthen the organized constituency for public health, and to complement the work of organizational partners.
With a statewide membership and offices in Boston, Worcester, and Springfield, we use a combination of advocacy, public education, community organizing,
policy development, and coalition leadership to address
the following issues:
- Public Health Funding
- Childhood Obesity
- Community Health Workers
- Environmental Health
- Hepatitis C
- Local Public Health
- Pandemic Flu and Emergency Preparedness
- Health Care Access
- Correctional Health
